Allen v. Trailer Farrow explores the Woody Allen and Mia Farrow scandal

HBO launches a trailer for Allen v. Farrow, a documentary that examines a sexual allegation against Woody Allen that would become a public scandal.

Allen v. Farrow will examine the scandal between Woody Allen and Mia Farrow. The acclaimed filmmaker and comedian had a twelve-year relationship with the actress and Rosemary baby, sharing three children, one of them being the journalist Ronan Farrow. The relationship ended when Farrow discovered that Allen was having an affair with one of his adopted children, André Previn, Soon-Yi, whom Allen would later marry.

HBO now has a new documentary in hand, releasing a trailer for Allen v. Farrow. The four-part documentary series is scheduled to premiere on February 21, revealing details that were not previously known. The full trailer can be seen below:

In 1992, Allen was accused by one of his adopted children, Dylan Farrow, of sexual abuse. Allen has repeatedly denied the accusation, speaking in interviews that his relationship with Soon-Yi Previn was motive for the story as an act of revenge by Mia Farrow. The sexual allegation has since been expanded by the Time’s Up and #MeToo movement, with Ronan Farrow being the center of investigative reporting similar to the allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein.

Many celebrities in the industry have long been specifically divided over Allen’s accusations, with some defending the director and others regretting having worked with him in films. Despite the rise of social movements and more talk of sexual abuse being brought to the forefront of the industry, Allen has yet to be formally charged with any wrongdoing. Although it is unclear how much or which specific events Allen v. Farrow will explore and analyze in relation to this serious matter, the HBO docuseries will take viewers back to when it all started when Farrow and Allen met.
