Allen Robinson, Bears has not had contract negotiations since September as the label’s deadline approaches

Allen Robinson has repeatedly said that everything is at stake regarding his future in Chicago or elsewhere.

Last week, in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, the Bears receiver said there was an “open line of communication” with the club, but noted that the sides had not spoken to each other for “some time”.

That time seems to be months.

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported on Tuesday NFL NOW that no negotiations on a long-term contract extension between the Bears and Robinson have taken place since September.

“It certainly seems to bring the (franchise) brand into the game,” noted Pelissero. “Whether it’s the Bears trying to do an extension, whether it’s setting up Robinson to play tag, or maybe even a tag and switch scenario.”

Robinson has generated 1,147 yards and 1,250 yards in the past two years in Chicago, respectively, with 13 TDs in total. He did this despite the poor quality QB game.

Last season, Robinson generated 1,250 of the Bears’ total of 3,925 yards, up 31%. It is no exaggeration to suggest that the Bears attack would have been the worst in the league without Robinson in the past three seasons.

A reliable weapon that can be opened against all covers, can win outside or in the middle and is a payload to corners in the red zone deserves an increase in salary. He still hasn’t received one in Chicago.

“At this point, I would be quite open to everything at the table,” said Robinson in the SiriusXM NFL Radio last Thursday. “I’m not 100 percent sure what will happen in the next few weeks when it comes to being a free agent and things like that, but as everything is today, I will definitely be open to everything at stake.”

The franchise brand window opens on February 23 and runs through March 9. Unless the extent of negotiations progresses quickly with Robinson, he is a candidate to take that mark before the window closes.
