PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department is reporting 1,601 new cases of Coronavirus and 22 additional deaths in the past 48 hours.
The county did not provide an update on Friday.
Of the new cases reported, 1,224 were confirmed in 4,551 CRP tests. There are 377 probable cases.
The Health Department says the new cases range in age from 5 months to 104 years, with 49 being the average age. Positive test dates range from November 18 to January 1. 122 positive tests are said to have more than a week.
Of the 22 deaths recently reported, two people were in their 60s, four people in their 70s, ten people in their 80s and six people in their 90s. Thirteen of the 22 deaths were associated with long-term care institutions. The dates of death ranged from 10 to 27 December.
There have been 3,219 hospitalizations in Allegheny County since the outbreak began.
The death toll across the county increased to 977.
There have been 55,410 cases of coronavirus in total among Allegheny County residents since the pandemic began.
