Most of the alleged leaks claimed the next Assassin’s Creed game won’t hit the shelves until 2022. Ubisoft hasn’t verified that, but it would continue the two-year gap between games that started with Valhalla, launched two years after Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launched in 2018. This schedule would also make sense with the delays and hiccups across the industry caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Assassin’s Creed 2021: leaks from locations in China
The most credible Assassin’s Creed the rumor goes back to 2017 and suggests that the series will soon visit China. This rumor comes from two ArtStation images posted by Ubisoft conceptual artist John Bigorgne, depicting what appear to be Chinese or Japanese landscapes. Redditor nstav13 noticed that one of the Assassins in the images had two dao swords on his back, which were popular weapons throughout the centuries of Chinese history. This is the only leak that can be concretely linked to Ubisoft, but there is no way to tell if Bigorgne’s illustrations were just unique designs or if they are linked to a new project.
Assassin’s Creed 2021: location leaks in India
A self-proclaimed Ubisoft employee posted on 4chan claiming Assassin’s Creed is destined for India afterwards with an ambitious new launch. They included a map with the post, which suggested that the game would include the entire Indian subcontinent, Bangladesh and even Pakistan. The post went on to say that the narrative would be focused on a female protagonist, with no option to choose the gender of the main character.
Assassin’s Creed 2021: Location leaks in France
Another 4chan leak claimed Assassin’s Creed ValhallaThe continuation of would be set in France during the Hundred Years War, a series of conflicts in Europe between 1337 and 1453. It was said that the gameplay featured castles, jousting and arena combat, which sound like some of the Valhallaresources. The protagonist will also befriend the famous French alchemist Nicolas Flamel, who will act as a seller of potions and equipment, much like Leonardo da Vinci in Assassin’s Creed 2.
Assassin’s Creed 2021: Leaks from locations in Japan
A 4chan post from March claimed the next Assassin Belief The game will be set in Japan during the Edo period, between 1693 and 1868. This leak also stated that it would be centered on a female protagonist, with no option to change gender, and that it would be titled “Assassin’s Creed Warrior. “It seems a little too generic to be a finished name, but if that rumor is legitimate, it could be a codename, like”Ragnarok“proved to be in early 2020. The post also said that the story of this new game will be heavily inspired by Japanese mythology and will have spirits and demons to fight. Warriors include a way to recruit Assassins, similar to Valhalla‘s Jomsviking mercenary system.
There is no way to prove whether any of these predictions are accurate until Ubisoft shows where the series will go next. But seeing how leaks have become a standard part of Assassin’s Creed release cycle, it is difficult to ignore these claims immediately.
