All Florida Publix locations will offer the COVID-19 vaccine

All Florida Publix locations will soon be offering COVID-19 vaccines to those who are eligible to receive them.

The supermarket chain made the announcement on Thursday saying that all 730 of its Florida pharmacies, including the addition of 136 stores in Broward and Miami Dade counties, will open their online booking system for COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

The appointment schedule will open Friday, February 26, at 7 am

“We are pleased to bring appointment opportunities to each of our pharmacies in Florida,” Publix CEO Todd Jones said in a press release. “We know how important this vaccine is to the people we serve and we are grateful to be able to expand our ability to help our communities during this time of need.”

According to state guidelines, vaccines are being provided to individuals aged 65 and over.

Vaccines are only provided by appointment, while supplies last, through the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine. It is not possible to make appointments by calling Publix or Publix Pharmacy.

According to Publix employees, the reservation system usually opens every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning.

The system will continue to be open as long as the company continues to receive doses of vaccine from the state and federal governments and save unforeseen circumstances, officials said.
