All 6 teams with HC vacancies to interview OC Arthur Smith titans

Well, it really wouldn’t be possible for Arthur Smith be in high demand right now. All six teams with technical vacancies have already requested or will request an interview with the Titans’ offensive coordinator, sources said to ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter (Twitter) Link)

These six teams, of course, are Chargers, Jets, Jaguars, Lions, Falcons and Texans. The Jags and Texans are in the same division as Smith. Teams cannot prevent an assistant from being interviewed for a promotion to head coach, so Smith can do the rounds if he wishes. Still only 38, Smith has seen his stocks soar meteorically in league circles over the past few seasons, although just two years ago he was a tight end coach he had never decided on before.

Smith joined the Titans as a quality control trainer in 2011 and was so highly regarded in the building that he managed to survive several main trainer regimes. After Matt LaFleur was hired to be the Packers head coach after the 2018 season, Mike Vrabel Smith promoted to offensive coordinator, and the rest is history.

Ryan Tannehill had a sudden resurgence to become one of the league’s most efficient quarterbacks under Smith’s tutelage, and the racing game led by Derrick Henry it has been unstoppable at times. Whether this year or not, it seems to be only a matter of time before Smith takes over as coach and becomes the next young offensive mind to lead a team alongside others. Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, and LaFleur.
