Alice Wetterlund responds to allegations against Thomas Middleditch – Deadline

Silicon Valley Student Alice Wetturlund responded to allegations of sexual misconduct made against HBO series star Thomas Middleditch.

“I tried to warn you about Middleditch, but nooooo,” Wetterlund tweeted on Sunday, “not every favorite little man who looks like he lives on a clock!”

Allegations against Middleditch, who currently stars in the CBS live-action comedy B Positiveand Hulu’s excited Solar opposites– surfaced yesterday in a complaint from the Los Angeles Times, detailing incidents of sexual misconduct at the Hollywood club Cloak & Dagger, which has since closed. In conversation with The Times, 10 women – including four former Cloak & Dagger employees – claimed that co-founders Adam Bravin and Michael Patterson had repeatedly ignored allegations of harassment by members like Middleditch.

Speaking specifically against the actor was Hannah Harding, who recalled that Middleditch had “obscene sexual openings” with her and his girlfriend on the night of October 22, 2019. Later, Harding said, Middleditch groped her on the dance floor in front of his friends and several employees, before going on to touch another woman. At the time, Harding was 21 years old.

In a conversation with The Times, Harding also shared direct messages from Middleditch on Instagram. “Hannah, I had no idea that my actions were so strange to you … I know you probably just want to set me on fire like a monster …,” he supposedly told her. “I don’t expect you to want to be my friend or anything … I’m so ashamed to make you uncomfortable.”

Sunday was not the first time Middleditch was involved in controversy, nor did it mark the first time Wetterlund called him out. In a 2019 interview for Playboy, the actor discussed the “swinger” lifestyle he was participating in with his then wife, Mollie Gates.

“It was only after I got married that I was like, ‘Mollie, I’m sorry, but we have to be nontraditional here,'” said the actor. “Personally, [fame] it’s one of the most complicated elements of all, because Mollie doesn’t understand it and yet she has to witness it. “

Said Wetterlund: “The most shocking thing for me is that he HAS female fans?!?”

The previous year, in an interview with the AV Club, Middleditch discussed a sexual assault allegation made against his ex Silicon Valley co-star TJ Miller., calling the #MeToo movement a “scary” and “complicated” thing for men. Months later, Wetterlund shared his perspective on Miller and his alleged facilitators, tweeting “I hope I don’t screw it up for you, but TJ Miller was a tough and petulant brat and pretty much everyone who had some power on that set (almost all men), including the male cast members, trained him and were complicit in his unprofessionalism. They can f * ck off forever. “

On Silicon Valley, Wetterlund reappeared as encoder Carla Walton, over six episodes. The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated comedy ended its sixth and final season in December 2019.

Middleditch representatives did not return emails requesting comments.
