Alex Rodriguez hopped on a plane to visit Jennifer Lopez in the Dominican Republic after we revealed exclusively that the couple is splitting up.
“Happy Monday. New week. New day. Onward. Upward”, he posted in an Instagram story showing the ocean and marking Lopez.
Lopez, 51, is in the Dominican Republic filming his new film, “Wedding Shotgun”.
On Friday, Page Six revealed that the high-profile pair’s relationship had hit the rocks and that they had been working to split up their assets in recent weeks.
However, on Saturday, the couple released a statement saying they are “working on some things”.
Sources told Page Six that they spent an entire night chatting after our bombshell report, and that “They are trying to work things out … but it is unclear whether that means they will be together.”
They were preparing to tell their children about the separation on Friday, sources close to the couple told us exclusively. Lopez shares twins Emme and Max, 12, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez, 45, is the father of two daughters, Natasha and Ella, with ex-Cynthia Scurtis.
A source also said of the duo over the weekend: “In the past two weeks they haven’t been together and in the past few days they haven’t been well … They’ve been having some crazy problems.
“Could they have a change of heart? Page six may be responsible for bringing them back. “
