Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez spent time over the weekend in the Dominican Republic, amid a recent difficult phase in the celebrity supercouple’s relationship.
Baseball MVP, 45, shared photos of his time on the island, where Lopez was filming his next film Shotgun Wedding.
Rodriguez “flew back to the Dominican Republic this weekend to be able to spend a few more days with Jennifer,” a source told People Sunday.

The retired hitter accessed Instagram over the weekend with a series of videos and photos he took while playing golf in a tropical location.

Amid several reports that the duo had split up, the couple – who have been connected since 2017 and revealed they were engaged in 2019 – issued a statement saying they are ‘working on some things’.
A source told People earlier this year that Lopez has ‘been thinking about breaking up with Alex for six months’, with another source telling the agency that ‘it was a happy reunion’ when the couple met earlier this month.
The source added: ‘Jennifer was excited to see him in person. They are really trying to understand things. ‘

In an interview with Allure last month, Lopez said that couples therapy “was really helpful for us in our relationship” as marriage plans were twice undermined in the midst of the pandemic.
Rodriguez, a former New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners player, is scheduled to return to Miami next month to provide analysis for Major League Baseball, including ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.
Lopez is the mother of twins Emme and Max, 13, with her ex-husband, singer Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez is the father of daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12, with ex Cynthia Scurti.
