Grocery store owner Aldi’s employees who choose to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will be paid for these efforts, the company said this week.
In a press release on Tuesday, Aldi said he would give American officials up to four hours of pay if they chose to be vaccinated.
“ALDI is ensuring that all hourly workers who wish to receive the vaccine can do so without the concern of losing wages or taking time off work. The company will cover the costs associated with administering the vaccine and will give employees two hours of payment for each dose they receive, up to four hours in total, as well as scheduling flexibility for salaried employees, ”said the German company in the press release.
Aldi, which has 2,000 sites in 37 states, added that it also plans to implement “vaccination clinics on site” in its warehouses and offices in an effort to “ensure that its employees have easy access to the vaccine”.

The news follows similar initiatives announced by Dollar General Corp., which is also offering its employees four hours pay if they receive the vaccine, and by Instacart Inc., the food delivery service, which said it would give its employees a $ 25 stipend if they receive the jab.

In addition, Trader Joe’s supermarket chain, which has more than 50,000 employees, said last week that it will give employees two hours of pay per dose, adding that it will change the schedule to ensure employees have time to do the injection.
