Alarm.com’s video-free doorbell was built for the COVID era

Rather than relying on motion detection, the doorbell includes software that Alarm.com claims can quickly and accurately detect when a person is at your door. Writing in front of the doorbell informs visitors that they don’t need to touch the device, but Alarm.com and its partners will sell a separate doormat with more visible instructions on where someone needs to stay. In any case, there is no need for a visitor to touch the device or for you to go out and disinfect it.

Outside of its touchless functionality, the touchless video doorbell has all the features you would expect from a Ring or Nest doorbell. The built-in camera has a wide field of view of 150 degrees and captures images in Full HD with support for HDR. It also has infrared night vision for when someone is at your door at night. Two-way audio allows you to chat with visitors even when you’re not at home, and you can access live and recorded footage via the Alarm.com mobile app and website. It also includes a built-in heater to keep you up and running during the cold winter months.

You can purchase the Touchless Video Doorbell through Alarm.com and the company’s home security partners for $ 200.
