Alabama climbs ranking after LSU win 30 points

The impact of Alabama’s record loss at LSU is being felt the next morning, when expectations continue to rise for this team.

Crimson Tide reached the 11th position in the NET ranking used by the NCAA tournament selection committee. It was 18th before the 105-75 beat of LSU on Tuesday in Baton Rouge.

This comes in the wake of an eighth consecutive win for an Alabama program that hasn’t had as many consecutive results since 2002.

Alabama (12-3, 7-0 SEC) reached 9th position in the CBS Sports version of the RPI.

Ken Pomeroy’s ratings pushed Alabama to tenth position in the minutes after winning the LSU.

Tide broke his own SEC record with 23 strokes of 3 points on a night unlike anything coach Nate Oats has ever seen.

“No, I never …” said Oats. “That was kind of crazy.”

The next to Alabama is NET No. 93 Mississippi State at 5 pm CT Saturday at the Coleman Coliseum. Bulldogs are 9-6, 4-3 at the SEC.

The best rated team for the rest of Alabama’s programming is NET No. 23 Missouri.
