Earlier today, the news that the Chicago Bears offered Seattle Seahawks three choices in the first round, one choice in the third round, plus two veteran players unknown to Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson. Seattle, of course, turned down the Bears for now, and they hired quarterback Andy Dalton. CBS Sports’ Jason La ConforaI know, I know, your history on the Bears news is, at best, incomplete – reported that GM Ryan Pace of Bears offered the Seahawks several veteran players to choose from, including starters Akiem Hicks and Khalil Mack.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that Seattle is not the only team that may have talked to the Bears about a switch to Hicks, saying there are “rumors” around the league that Hicks is available.

Negotiating with the 31-year-old Hicks would create a big hole in Bears’ defense, but would also create $ 10.5 million in cap space for 2021.

Bears hired striker Angelo Blackson on Wednesday night to strengthen his depth in position, but he will not be able to replicate Hicks’ status in defense.
