Airstream designs the latest model, a mobile office, with remote employees in mind

A great privilege to work on this home office? It’s mobile.

Airstream, maker of the stylish silver trailers suitable for Americans looking to live a #vanlife in style, on Tuesday announced a new office-inspired model for those working remotely during the pandemic.

The Flying Cloud 30FB Office, as it is called, is advertised as optimized for the worker on the go, featuring a dedicated office with ample space for the family to enjoy a comfortable balance between work and personal life, according to Airstream.

MORE AMERICANS ALLEGEDLY WOULD CONSIDER LIVING IN A VAN TO SAVE MONEY

Airstream says its new model was made specifically to tackle “the challenges and opportunities in the face of the coronavirus pandemic”. And with more companies allowing employees to work remotely, Airstream is serving consumers by asking, “Why work from home, when can I work from anywhere?” the company wrote in a blog post.

“With a little bit of preparation to ensure connectivity at the camp or boondocking site, virtual meetings and email communication were guaranteed,” writes Airstream.

Inside, there’s a designated office space with a large desk and space for a laptop, notebooks and other electronics, along with multiple USB ports and sliding drawers and storage cubicles to organize your workspace. There is also a blackboard, blackout curtains for privacy and a swivel chair attached by a handle, so employees can be trapped in their work spaces.

But perhaps the biggest advantage of working from this home office is the ability to access outside when it’s time to hang up for the day.

“Go for a walk on your break. Take the kayaks and go down the river, knowing that you can virtually meet with your team later when you return to your camp,” Airstream said in his blog.

The Airstream Flying Cloud 30FB Office also includes a queen-size bed, a dining table that converts to a sleeping area and a Blu Ray and DVD player. The trailer sells for $ 107,500.

In fact, more Americans are going on road trips outdoors as a result of the pandemic, with cinemas, restaurants and other popular recreational facilities still operating with limited capacity – or completely off limits – in parts of the country.

Up to 52% of Americans considered living full or part time in RVs or trailers equipped with amenities such as beds, stoves, storage units, bathrooms and Wi-Fi, according to a survey conducted on behalf of moving company Move .org in October.
