PORTLAND, Oregon. (AP) – A woman is facing charges after attacking another woman on a Spirit Airlines flight at Portland International Airport on Sunday because the woman’s children kicked the back of her seat.
Daydrena Jaslin Walker-Williams pulled her luggage from an overhead compartment and then punched passenger Nataly Hernandez several times, leaving Hernandez with a bleeding lip and lumps on the head, a likely cause statement.
Walker-Williams said he hit Hernandez “2-3 times in the face with his fist,” according to the complaint. She told the police that she was upset because Hernandez’s kids kicked the back of her chair and said she told Hernandez ‘to tell the kids to stop this, “reported the Oregonian / OregonLive. She said Hernandez ignored her and later “Tapped his shoulder.”
Walker-Williams said he did not tell a commissioner about the blow to the shoulder because his “first reaction was to fight,” according to the statement. The officers told Walker-Williams that other people on the plane saw her punch Hernandez, but did not see Hernandez tap her on the shoulder. Walker-Williams’ response to the statement was, “Do what you have to do.”
The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office accused Walker-Williams of assault and harassment.
