COLUMBIA, SC – Texas A&M men’s basketball team takes action to face South Carolina on Wednesday at 8 pm at Colonial Life Arena.
Last time, the Aggies (6-2, 1-1 SEC) secured their first win at the season’s conference with a 68-66 win over Auburn. The second year Emanuel Miller led offensively with 16 points, while the second Andre Gordon added 10, including the winner with 1.6 seconds remaining. Jay Jay Chandler senior registered 10 points, his third game in the last four with 10 or more points.
Miller leads the team in scoring and rebounds for the season with 17.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, both ranked in the top five in the SEC. Senior Quenton Jackson averages 12.0 points per contest, and senior Savion Flagg averages 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Gordon’s 9.6 points per game are third in the squad and lead the team with 24 assists.
South Carolina, whose schedule has been affected by cancellations and postponements, competed for the first time since December 5 on Saturday and came out with a 78-71 victory over Florida A&M. AJ Lawson and Jermaine Cousinard boost the Gamecock attack (2-2, 0-0 SEC) to 14.8 points and 13.8 points per game, respectively. Justin Minaya is third on the team with 9.0 points per dispute and leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game.
Wednesday’s game marks the 12th meeting between the two schools, with South Carolina having a 7-4 advantage. The Gamecocks have won the last four meetings and the Aggies are looking for their first win in Columbia since February 21, 2015.
