Incredible games completed quickly 2021 wrapped after a whole week of fast running. The event generated an impressive $ 2,764,437 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This is the second highest amount collected at AGDQ, only surpassed by last year’s total of more than $ 3 million.
AGDQ 2021 was conducted online this time due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. Participants broadcast the games from their own homes while viewers watched online. This year’s event had some exciting highlights. At the beginning of the week, two different sonic world records were set by two different speedrunners, back to back.
Another runner won all heavenly c side levels using a Dance Dance Revolution dance mat. I still cannot understand this. The race also started with a cheat code that unlocks all levels of the game.
Another great race took place in a game called Mr. Bones, one that many people probably never played or heard of. The race took place during AGDQ’s annual “Awful Games Done Quick” block. This is a part of the event where, as the name implies, people play horrible games very quickly. The race was so much fun to watch that it helped our own Ash Parrish deal a little better with last week’s terrible events.

I’ve always been a big fan of areola speedruns, and this year we had a great Halo 3 speedrun on the recently launched PC game port. Growing, Halo 3 it was a game that took me more than a week to win; watching someone demolish the game in less than an hour and fifteen minutes, using various gravity hammer and grenade tricks, was a blast. The young teenager Zack would not believe it.
