“This suggests a distortion of values when you can buy a gun and create so much carnage and violence on the same day, but if you want to exercise your right to vote as an American citizen, the same legislature that should focus on that is busy raising barriers,” he added. him, referring to the Georgia state legislature.

Warnock then pushed the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, a bill to expand access to voting rights that failed in the last Congress.
“This is the reason why we have to fight for the right to vote in our country,” said Warnock. “We need to ensure that people from diverse backgrounds with their life experiences bring this to the great debate about the direction of our country. That is why we have to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.”
Georgia is dealing with a tragedy after Robert Aaron Long was charged with eight counts of murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of eight people at three massage parlors in the Atlanta area.

Six of the victims were Asian women, but officials stressed that the investigation is ongoing and the reason for the attacks has not been determined, including whether they were racially motivated.
