After the arrest of El Chapo’s wife, the ex-president of Mexico sent a tweet to the current leader: ‘Don’t worry, Emma’

The former president of Mexico apparently punched the country’s current leader after the United States arrest of Emma Colonel Aispuro, the beauty queen, wife of the famous drug dealer “El Chapo”, for allegedly helping her husband manage his multibillion-dollar criminal empire.

Vicente Fox, who was Mexican president from 2000 to 2006, accessed Twitter on Monday – right after the news of Colonel’s arrest, to say, “Don’t worry, Emma.”

“The President will come to your rescue !!” he added the news of his arrest above.

EL CHAPO WIFE ORDERED BEHIND BARS AFTER INTERNATIONAL DRUG TRAFFICKING PRISON

Mexico’s current president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, had previously criticized the U.S. police over the arrest in October 2020 of a former Mexican defense secretary, retired general Salvador Cienfuegos, for alleged drug trafficking and money laundering.

Cienfuegos was arrested in Los Angeles in October after he was secretly indicted by a federal grand jury in New York in 2019. He was accused of conspiring with the H-2 cartel in Mexico to smuggle thousands of pounds of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana while he was secretary of defense from 2012 to 2018.

Prosecutors said the intercepted messages showed that Cienfuegos took bribes in exchange for ensuring that the military did not take action against the cartel and that operations were initiated against its rivals. He was also accused of introducing cartel leaders to other corrupt Mexican officials.

Under pressure from Mexico’s implicit threats to restrict or expel US agents, US prosecutors dropped the case so that Cienfuegos could be returned to Mexico and investigated under Mexican law.

In January, Mexican prosecutors considered the case in the United States to be completely unfounded and cleared Cienfuegos of the charges.

Lopez Obrador has offered help to the Guzman family in the past. In February 2019, just days after the cartel leader was convicted in New York, Lopez Obrador said he instructed his government to help “El Chapo’s” family in seeking humanitarian visas to visit the drug dealer.

On Sunday, Colonel, 31, was arrested at Dulles International Airport in Virginia for alleged international drug trafficking.

During his first appearance in court on Tuesday, Colonel was arrested behind bars while awaiting trial. The judge’s order came after the Colonel’s lawyer, Jeffrey Licthman, said he would consent to his temporary detention, while retaining the right to request a future bail hearing.

She faces a minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted, with a maximum life sentence and a $ 10 million fine.
