The 5th place Gators proved that they can battle the SEC with three consecutive wins over the Aggies last weekend. But now they face an even more difficult challenge – an SEC classified opponent. Gamecocks ranked No. 25 try to overthrow Florida’s offensive power. Florida currently leads the series’ history by 48-47, winning 2-0f-3 in 2019 against South Carolina.

South Carolina at a glance

So far this year, Gamecocks boast a 13-6 overall record and 1-2 in the SEC, their first opponent in the SEC being Vanderbilt No. 2 ranked. One guy to watch on the plate is Wes Clarke. The 6’2 junior has a batting average of 0.338 with 11 home runs and 23 RBIs so far. In addition, he was named Co-Player of the Week by the SEC and recently won the Collegiate National Player of the Week. Both honors coming in February and March.

Gamecocks also threaten the mountain. They lead the country in Ks by nine entries with 13.4 points per game. Against Citadel earlier this week, Will Sanders hit 10 hitters, a career high for the freshman.

Jud Fabian

The second-year outfielder had a stellar performance last week. He racked up five hits in the week, including a one-two and two home runs. In addition, Fabian collected four RBIs and removed 0.750 from the plate. Your talents don’t stop at the scout’s box. He showed the leather on Thursday’s debut against the Aggies, stealing from them a home run.
