Almost four years later NieR: automata was released, a modder discovered the ultimate RPG secret. Lance McDonald detected some unknown code when he was reverse engineering the game. He found that it is related to a cheat code that allows players to jump straight to the end of NieR: automata.
You can only activate the cheat code in a specific location. After defeating the head of the Marx prologue and talking to the 9S, you need to stay between a few barrels. In a video detailing the cheat, McDonald explained how to enter the code on the PS4 version – hold R2 and press up, down, up, right, left, square, circle, triangle and cross. It may be easier if you pause the game first. If you enter the code correctly, you will be taken to the post-credit scene.
