AEW Rewind: Khan grants Hardy’s wish, Guerrero explains the absence, more!

Don’t have time to follow all of AEW’s online content? Do not worry. We help you with AEW Rewind, which will rewind by last week’s social media bits and YouTube videos to prepare you for Wednesday night Dynamite.

AEW had already scheduled a 10-man fight between Matt Hardy, Private Party and TH2 against the Dark Order to Dynamite, but it was changed thanks to Hardy knocking on Tony Khan’s forbidden door. Money Matt requested a PPV preview of Hardy and Hangman Page in the same ring. Khan has granted the favor, and the new contest will be Hardy & Marq Quen against Hangman & John Silver.

Hardy made reference to Silver saying that he would kill Hardy. Here’s the clip that Hardy is talking about.

If you’re wondering why Silver’s pants are open, well …

“Road to AEW Dynamite: The Crossroads,” introduced hype to Tully Blanchard returning to the ring and Shaquille O’Neal making his debut at AEW wrestling. The material is similar to what we saw last week in Dynamite, but is still good at stimulating the excitement for tonight.

AEW also wrote a long article on his website about Blanchard’s career (here). It is a good introduction that explains why the man is special.

Chris Jericho and MJF put an end to any conspiracy theory that they did not inflict pain on Young Bucks’ father.

Vickie Guerrero explained her absence in the ring in support of Nyla Rose. She has been busy at successful business meetings for Vicious Vixens. The video was posted before Rose’s victory over Dr. Britt Baker DMD, but the essence of the message is still up.

Nyla Rose must fight Ryo Mizunami in the tournament final in Dynamitand. The winner wins a title shot against Hikaru Shida. The champion has a preference for the type of fight Revolution PPV on March 7.

Also in Dynamite, 10 will compete against Max Caster in a qualification for the PPV ladder match. The winner will join Cody Rhodes, Pentagon, Scorpio Sky and Lance Archer as five of the six contestants. It was announced that Tony Khan will reveal the final person during tonight’s show. I am betting on a great man worthy of a great advertising campaign on a great show. Not to be confused with a big show. Big Show appearing on Go-Big Show it would be like when Ghostbusters crossed the streams of their proton packets.

Be the Elite

“Back When You Were A Jobber” – Being The Elite, Ep. 245 (here) highlighted:

  • Matt Jackson was playing on the keyboard when his kids informed him that AEW signed on to the Big Show. They reminded Matt about chokeslam at a table when he was a WWE jobber. Matt panicked and broke up.
  • Kenny Omega opened a package of vintage collectible cards from WCW. He also unveiled new custom sneakers from Jordan.
  • Matt Hardy conspired with Isiah Kassidy and TH2 to end the Order of Darkness. (That was for the original 10-man tag, which has now been changed.) Hardy offered them a bonus if they were successful.
  • Alex Reynolds and John Silver were still looking for Sting. They tried to call out to him with a Stinger howl. Eddie Kingston told them to shut up. They were disrupting their meditation time.
  • Dark Order was angry at losing the Kung Fu fight to Ortiz. Alex Abrahantes promised to get change.
  • The Vicious Vixens added Ryzin to their crew.
  • Dark Order regrouped to help 5 heal after being thrown offstage by Matt Hardy. Hangman Page came in to push Stu Grayson when they argued about the small penis size of 5. The executioner informed the crew that they may have a correspondence with several men in Dynamite.
  • The Good Brothers were upset by the attack on Pope Buck. Brandon Cutler was passed out sleeping. Luke Gallows gave Papa Buck some Viagra pills. They put a pill in Cutler’s mouth, and it took effect immediately.

This episode had the typical folly associated with BTE. With the audible being called on the 10-man tag, there’s not much relevant to Dynamite.

We will close with a new Kenny Omega shirt. He chose the humble approach to design.
