Additional details posted on the vaccination site COVID-19 Super POD at Disneyland Resort

As we reported yesterday, Disneyland Resort volunteered to be the location of California’s first Super Point-of-Dispensing (POD). These sites are epicenters for extensive COVID-19 vaccinations. As vaccines begin to be distributed in the United States, large open areas are needed to establish locations for wide distribution.

In a recent press release, current President Andrew Do states:

Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD location – performing a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process.

The announcement was made via a Twitter post by The Orange County Health Care Agency.

Five of these POD sites are planned in the region, and will be able to vaccinate thousands of residents daily. Orange County is currently in Group 1a distribution, which means that residents over 75 are eligible to receive the vaccine.

The location set for the Disneyland Resort POD site is the Toy Story parking lot, located south of Disneyland Park.

Supervisor Donald P. Wagner of the Third District states,

It is important to vaccinate as many people as possible against COVID-19 and we need space for that. I thank the Disneyland Resort and the city of Anaheim for intensifying the shared effort to protect OC residents from the virus.

This is the first Regional Super POD location to be announced by Orange County. There are also conversations about Walt Disney World in Florida being used as a distribution website as well.
