Happy Gilmore turns 25 today. It’s a terrible sentence to write.
The film, which starred Adam Sandler as a violent (in a cool way) ice hockey player turned golf player, is a comedy classic of all time and for people of a certain generation (my generation) is one of most quotable films ever made.
In Happy Gilmore, Happy’s trademark is his golf swing. More like a blow, Happy takes a short, stuttering step and hits the ball with his driver.
Anyone who raised a golf club in the late 1990s has tried this shot at least once. Including me.
To celebrate Happy Gilmore’s 25th birthday, Adam Sandler brought Happy Gilmore for one last swing.
