Activision Yanks Crossbow, released accidentally early, even after players spent a lot of time working on it

What Call to action from the, Call to action strip. Yesterday, a new chic beast aired on Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War by accident, and now players who have spent hours trying to unlock it are frustrated because Activision pulled him out of the game.

How Eurogamer reports, players discovered the Shadowhunter R1 beast in the War zone buy it yesterday, March 18th, which was weird because it wasn’t officially mentioned in the last patch notes. Players who decided to buy it anyway were not able to use it in War zone but I could take it out and start shooting people with it Black Ops Cold Warmultiplayer. Others found that it could be unlocked for free completing a challenge this required them to win three one-shot kill medals in 15 matches. And so they did, for several hours, until Activision finally realized it had made a mistake and took it back.

“An issue with Shadowhunter R1’s weapon showing up earlier than planned in War zone and Black Ops Cold War has been solved ”, tweeted the company your support account. “Refunds are planned for players who purchased the package while it was active in the Store, and the package and game challenge will return at a later date.”

Comments on the tweet, of course, have been disabled, but that hasn’t stopped players from expressing their frustration elsewhere. “Rippa for all the people who stomped on the gun,” wrote one person in a tweet with quotes. Others vented in the game subreddit. It would be one thing if the beast was just being temporarily deactivated until it was ready (some players reported that its accessories were a little buggy), but one community manager at Treyarch confirmed on Twitter the progress of unlocking the weapon would be restarted for everyone, even after being brought back into the game. Black Ops Cold War it’s a militarized world created by Activision, however, and she can always decide to unlock the weapon for free, if she wants to.

The editor did not immediately respond to a request for comment on when Shadowhunter R1 will officially return.
