Warzone reiterated his promises to players to overcome the game’s hacking problems and make significant “improvements” to its anti-cheat system.
Warzone’s first year was an absolute success, with millions of players around the world falling into Verdansk and enjoying the second attempt at CoD in a real battle, after the Blackout of Black Ops 4.
However, certain aspects of the game have become common targets for criticism. The strength of the skill-based combination and the prominence of hackers in games of all standards has been incredibly frustrating for fans.
What made both problems worse, however, was Activision’s lack of a tangible response. Players were incredibly frustrated by the silence of the billion-dollar company, which they argue has more than enough resources to solve the cheating problem and implement a robust anti-cheating system.

Warzone has been enjoyed by more than 75 million players since its launch in March 2020.
Although there hasn’t been any major public announcement yet – from a Twitter account or a senior team member – a daily message in the game that was originally from April has resurfaced, being shown to players once again.
The message, highlighted by Redditor ‘SSMKh’, is entitled “Cheaters Not Welcome”. The player’s own caption for “Are you sure about Activision?” tells us a lot about the skepticism and frustrations of the community.
“We work aggressively to keep Warzone fun and fair,” says the game’s communication. “Security monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ALL possible tricks, revised hacks, planned improvements to in-game trick reporting, over 50,000 permanent global bans to date, More updates coming soon.”
Are you sure about Activision ?? from CODWarzone
The message is originally from April 2020, but it appears to be shown to players in the game in January 2021. Somehow, it explains why the number of permabans declared in the message is so low. It is not clear whether the messages of the day are chosen specifically or in some kind of automatic rotation.
With Activision downtime already under scrutiny, the reiteration of a 7-month message seems even more bizarre. We would like to think that the number of Permabans is now much higher, especially due to the incredible number of people who have fallen in Verdansk.
The reaffirmation of the improvements to come will be welcome, but skeptical responses make it clear that many believe that the problem has gotten out of hand and has been allowed to continue for a long time.
