Activision confirms that the original developer is handling the Tony Hawk switch port

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 2

When it comes to third-party games on the Nintendo Switch, many companies turn to support studios or experts like the Panic Button to do the heavy lifting. We recently saw this with the title of Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends.

With the next release Tony Hawk professional skater 1 + 2 , Activision confirmed with Polygon that the original developer of the game, Vicarious Visions, will be responsible for the launch of Nintendo – despite the fact that it is now merged with Blizzard:

“Asked about the developer handling these ports, Activision told Polygon that the original developer Vicarious Visions is on the case, although Activision Blizzard recently merged the studio with Blizzard Entertainment.”

Vicarious views previously worked on Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, but Spyro Reignited Trilogy developer Toys for Bob handled the release of the Switch. Vicarious Visions is also helping Blizzard with its new remake, Diablo II: resurrected, which is coming on Switch and on various platforms sometime later this year.

In somewhat related news, Tony Hawk took out his “last” Ollie 540 earlier this week. He is now 52 years old. He performed this same trick for the first time 32 years ago. You can check it out on his official Twitter account.

Are you happy to know that the original developer of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 remaster is working on the Switch version? Will you add this game to your collection when it falls? Leave a comment below.
