Active shooter at Texas Lodge calls for blockade: reports

A popular Texas resort was closed Friday night after reports of a possible active sniper.

The police raided the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine after 10 pm local time, and placed the hotel on guard as a precaution, Grapevine Police said on Twitter.

“We are searching every room while families wait in a safe part of the resort,” the police tweeted two hours later.

“Our officers are responding to an active threat call at Great Wolf Lodge,” Grapevine Police announced on Twitter at 10 pm

“There are no reported injuries, but we are still at the scene and searching the area.”

The cottage tweeted to the local CBS station that the police were called after someone “made statements that threatened the safety of our guests”; that person was being sought, said the tweet.

“For the safety of our guests, the resort is currently in lockdown and we continue [sic] law enforcement leadership. ”

Grapevine is a suburb north of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

The Great Wolf Lodge is an indoor water park and resort, according to its website.

A guest at the chalet told KTVT that a message sent by the hotel warned customers not to leave their rooms amid reports of a possible active sniper.

Great Wolf Lodge told the agency that the police are investigating the scene.
