Aaron Rodgers says engagement to Shailene Woodley is the ‘best thing that ever happened to me’ … and talks about the ‘next big challenge’ of being a father

Your turbulent year is just beginning.

And Aaron Rodgers said his engagement to Shailene Woodley is the ‘best thing that ever happened to me’ during a live Instagram chat with Zenith Watches CEO Julien Tornare this week.

The 37-year-old professional footballer discussed his strengths last year as he recovered during the off-season and bragged about his newly hired status.

“I was engaged recently, so I’ve been enjoying this part of my life,” said Rodgers. ‘Obviously, this is the best thing that happened to me last year.’

Aaron was all smiles, wearing a gray cap to match his T-shirt while chatting with the CEO by video call.

It is the first time that the Green Bay Packers quarterback has addressed their relationship since the announcement of their surprise engagement by accepting the MVP award during the NFL Honors in February.

“It is an honor to win this award for the third time,” he said. ‘2020 was definitely a crazy year full of many changes and growth, some incredible memorable moments.

“180 days in a row of having the hair of the nose shaved, playing for few fans or not resistant all season,” he said before adding: “I got engaged.”

While talking to Tornare, he said that “the next big challenge will be becoming a father”, adding that he is “in the age group where many of my close friends from high school and college are now parents and have a family of their own”.

Rodgers clarified ‘maybe not in the immediate future, but definitely something I’m looking forward to, it will be a really fun challenge.’
