When ESPN anchor Kenny Mayne asked Rodgers to simply say that he wanted to be a Packer for the rest of his life, Rodgers replied, “Ken, you and I know this is not the way it works.”
The Packers paid a $ 6.8 million bonus on the Rodgers list last month, instead of restructuring it to make more room for the limit as Green Bay entered the off-season.

Packers CEO Mark Murphy did not comment on the Rodgers contract when speaking to reporters last week.
“I’m not going to address any individual players or any problems in that regard,” said Murphy when asked about the tension between the team and Rodgers.
Speculation about Rodgers’ future began when the quarterback said he did not know what the future would look like after the team’s loss in the NFC championship to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst made it clear after the NFC championship that Rodgers was on the organization’s plans.
