‘A Very British Scandal’: Paul Bettany and Claire Foy Cast in Season 2

Paul Bettany and Claire Foy are about to become involved in a major scandal.

THE Wandavision and The crown stars signed up for A Very British Scandal, BBC One and Amazon Prime follow-up to A Very English Scandal, TVLine learned.

Foy and Bettany will play the Duchess and Duke of Argyll, also known as the main actors in one of the most lewd divorce cases of the 20th century in Britain. According to the official logline:

Famous for her charisma, beauty and style, Margaret (Foy), Duchess of Argyll, dominated the front pages as a divorcee, presenting accusations of forgery, theft, violence, drug use, secret recording, bribery and an explicit Polaroid image. in the incandescent glow of the 1960s media.

Sarah Phelps (Dublin murders) wrote the series, which will unfold in three episodes of 60 minutes and which will investigate the role of institutional misogyny in the way the Duchess was shamed in society and defamed by the press and the judicial system.

Foy, Phelps and Sewitsky are among the series’ executive producers. A Very British Scandal will be available on Amazon Prime Video in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom.

The predecessor of the series, A Very English Scandal, starred Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw and narrated the events that led to the imbroglio of Jeremy Thorpe, from England.
