Thursday night, a clip from Twitch’s Buckkerz streamer who showed him yelling at his son after losing in a video game went viral.
In the clip, Buckkerz (whose legal name has not been confirmed by Insider) can be seen playing “Madden 21” with his young son on his lap. After having his shot in the game intercepted, the streamer yells “curse —” as he throws his controller down, breaking it. “F — ing $ 300 f — ing controller” he yells as the child yells at the camera.
“I’m about to leave before I lose control,” he says, putting the child in a chair before shouting directly into her face “shut up!”
Your webcam then disappears and the flow is interrupted.
Buckkerz is a small streamer, who according to TwitchTracker reproduced playing “Madden 21” several times a week during November and October 2020 for less than two hours for an average audience of about five viewers. His January 21 stream was his first time back and one of the five viewers managed to capture the clip and post it on Reddit.
The 28-second clip gained momentum on the LiveStreamFails subreddit, where it quickly racked up more than 10,000 positive votes in less than 24 hours. “If video games make you do this to your family, pets or a child —– you need to reevaluate your life,” wrote a Redditor. “That poor baby. My heart broke for that boy,” wrote another.
On twitter, the clip was posted by YouTuber Nicholas DeOrio, where he obtained more than 160,000 views in 10 hours.
For a brief period, after the clip arrived on Reddit, Buckkerz changed the name of his channel on Twitch to “Imsorry1234556” before the channel was taken offline. It is unclear whether the account was removed by the streamer or banned by Twitch. Twitch did not respond to comments at the time of publication.
When the reaction started, Buckkerz was quick to delete his many social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Her now extinct Bukkerzgaming account wrote in her guide about, “Living sober, being a good father and husband is my mission in life”.
Unfortunately, streamers on Twitch have exhibited similar behavior before.
In 2018, Australian streamer Luke “mrDeadMoth” Munday was broadcast attacking his pregnant bride who was trying to get him out of a “Fortnite” game. A year later, he was charged with common assault and sentenced to a 14-month community prison order. In 2019, a streamer known as TTV_MajesticUnicorn was seen on camera biting and beating his young son.
Buckkerz did not return a request for comment until the time of publication.
