The South Carolina men’s basketball program received great news last week when AJ Lawson, last season’s top scorer, withdrew from the NBA Draft to return to his junior season.
With Lawson back, eighth grade coach Frank Martin returns 13 of 16 players from last season. The team faces the task of replacing the striker Maik Kotsar, who had his best career at Columbia as a senior. The team only had one player, guard Jair Bolden, exit the program via the transfer portal.
There’s a lot to get excited about as a senior guard Seventh woods becomes eligible and joins a strong youth group in Lawson, Justin Minaya, Keyshawn Bryant, and Alanzo Frink. Second year of third year Jermaine Couisnard is coming out of a season with the SEC All-Freshman Team. The first year guard class last year Trae Hannibal and forward Trey Anderson, Jalyn McCreary, and Wildens Leveque everyone comes back, three of whom impacted the team in different outbreaks last year.

At the beginning of the weekend, the program released a video of numbers of uniforms to be worn, mainly by Woods and freshman attackers Ja’Von Benson and Patrick Iriel.
