In a world where all things are the same, it is no problem that Matthew Stafford, Carson Wentz and Jared Goff are already off the board as possibilities to become the next quarterback for the Chicago Bears.
But that’s only because Deshaun Watson – the biggest fish on the market – hasn’t moved yet.
Unfortunately, it will be extremely difficult to roll it up:

Longtime football connoisseur Peter King reveals all kinds of potential commercial scenarios involving Watson. There is even a mention of Chicago as a possible Houston business partner: “Chicago would certainly be interested,” writes King. “But draft 20 this year is a big negative, with no QB but Nick Foles to deal with; the lack of significant young talent to pack is also negative. ” There. That hurts. But it’s not entirely untrue, so accept it as you wish.
As for the teams that can make proposals that King considers valuable, there are not many. And the ones he proposes on behalf of the teams are completely crazy. Two are straight from nuh-uh, no way it happens category:
⇒ A 7 for 1 Panthers deal, with RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Robbie Anderson, QB Teddy Bridgewater, two choices in the first round, a second round, a third in 2022 and possibly the pass-rusher Brian Burns.
⇒ Another unbalanced proposal through the Jets, including QB Sam Darnold, DL Quinnen Williams, two choices in the first round and two more in the second round (a 6-by-1 pack).
⇒ There is a layer of ridicule that I would not even address in the wild three-way proposal among 49ers, Vikings and Texans. King offers Minnesota sending Kirk Cousins to San Francisco, the Niners sending Jimmy Garoppolo to the Texans, and Houston sending Watson to Minnesota. There would be other choices and players following several different paths. But it is difficult to imagine a trade where John Lynch does not get the maximum value on a trading chart.
What would a Bears package look like that rivaled the above? First round choices in 2021, 2022 and 2023, LB Roquan Smith, WR Darnell Mooney and more? Boy, hello. It’s a spicy meatball. One that I’m not ready to deconstruct right now.
