Senator Cotton suggests three steps Biden could take to resolve the border crisis

Senator Tom Cotton, R-Ark., Asked President Biden to reimpose three Trump-era border policies, while critics accuse the Biden government of inviting illegal immigration through its policies.

Migrant children are arriving at the southern border of the US at rates faster than they can be processed and transferred to the sponsors’ homes, a senior Customs and Border Protection official told Fox News, while the Biden government has repeatedly denied there is a ” crisis “the border.

“The Biden government continues to say that Trump has somehow dismantled the immigration system. This is false. It was Administrator Biden who dismantled three highly effective policies,” Cotton told Fox News Sunday this week.

He called on Biden to extend the exclusion from public health to all migrants, including minors, and to revive the “Stay in Mexico” policy and the “safe third country” agreements with countries like Guatemala.

“The public health exclusion order, they removed that order with respect to minors. Well, guess what we have now at the border? A lot more minors. That’s not a surprise,” said Cotton.

In February, the United States began admitting migrants waiting in Mexico for their immigration cases to be processed, part of the Biden government ending Trump-era protocols, including “Staying in Mexico”.

Cotton proclaimed yet another policy, secure agreements with third countries.

“The so-called safe third-country agreement with countries like Guatemala that says that if you pass through a country that is not your own applying for asylum, you have to apply for asylum in the first country you go through. This is the international standard, ”Cotton said. “Joe Biden could impose all three of these things again this week, if he wanted to.”
