Nintendo support forums may close soon

Nintendo fans with technical concerns may soon have a lesser way to contact the company, if the rumors are true. According to emails received by some users, the Nintendo of America Support Forums are in the process of being closed. The rumors are based on an email dated March 12, 2021 received by a longtime forum user, who uploaded it to the Nintendo Reddit page [Thanks, Nintendo Everything].

According to the email, the Nintendo representative noted that after more than a decade, the company decided to close the Nintendo Support Forums. In the future, he would focus on “many other” support options. The email was sent as a form of advance notification to the “important members” of the community and, as a thank you for their involvement, at least some of those notified received free download codes from a selection of original Nintendo titles.

Nintendo of America has been operating its Support Forums for a long time, although recently they have shrunk in size as the company has moved away from maintaining forum communities. In the meantime, other official support lines have grown and, currently, Nintendo representatives often direct customers to a contact page to find an appropriate help option, which can include a phone, chat, text message or ticketing system.

At the time of this writing, Nintendo of America had not confirmed whether the Support Forums were closing or not. Meanwhile, concerns about Nintendo Switch problems with the Joy-Con diversion have expanded to include class action in Canada.
