Meghan Markle’s father thinks that some of his struggles could have been fought with his help.
Thomas Markle, who has been estranged from her daughter since the time of her wedding, appeared on “Good Morning Britain” on Tuesday and spoke in the Duchess’s explosive interview with her husband, Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey.
Among the revelations shared during the two-hour meeting is that Meghan, 39, was facing suicidal thoughts amid intense press criticism.
Thomas, 76, however, feels that he could have offered help to his daughter at that time.

“If I knew that she was having psychological problems, I would be there to support her,” he said. “The biggest problem here is that she practically destroyed her entire family on the mother’s side and on my side.”
Thomas said it “pissed him off” to know that his daughter had such dark thoughts during her pregnancy. The Duchess also said that she was prevented from receiving help, as she was told that it would have a negative impact on the royal family.
“It would have been easy for her to contact me and anyone else in her family – who she claims to not know,” said Thomas at “GMB”. “But the other thing is that I think she could go to her husband.”

“The end result is that she didn’t lose me. She made a statement saying she lost me. She didn’t lose me,” added Thomas. “I would always have been there around here. I’m there for her now, if she wants me.”
