“WAP” – the sexually explicit hit of Cardi B and Stallion Megan Thee – is a symbol of women taking charge and saying what they think … to Rep. Maxine Waters, anyway.
The congresswoman and MTS recently went online, and Waters seemed to surprise the rapper when she was asked what the song encourages her … and she mentioned “WAP”.
After cheerfully telling Meg not to worry, Rep. Waters said that when she heard the track for the first time, she thought … “That is audacity. This is audacity.”
During the online chat for Harper’s Bazaar, Maxine also said that Cardi and Meg should be praised, not criticized, for leading a feminist movement in hip-hop.
After all, Waters says this is how the men who were “in charge” in this musical genre – Tupac and Dr. Dre – did for years, and she points out that she has always been an advocate of the First Amendment.

@JordanUhl
Now compare Waters’ view of “WAP” with that of the conservative host Ben Shapiro … who famously criticized the vulgarity of the lyrics when it was released and claimed it was an affront to feminism.
