But Miley Cyrus and Lil Nas X seemed closer to fulfilling their musical dream on Friday night, when they were seen dining together at Nobu in Malibu, California.
Miley, 28, whose father Billy Ray Cyrus made it to the top of the charts with Nas, 21, on his country rap single Old Town Road, looked chic in an all-black ensemble.

With her blond hair cut in shiny waves, the star was seen talking to Nas, who drew attention in a white logo sweatshirt and colorful pants.
Completing his look with a white baseball cap and a pair of white Alexander McQueen leather sneakers, he adhered to the regulations wearing a white face mask.
The duo was accompanied by friends as they dined together at the restaurant, before continuing their night of joy alongside, at Little Beach House Malibu in Soho House.

His departure comes after Nas revealed that he hoped to record a track with Miley, until the new coronavirus pandemic forced such plans into the background.
Having already enjoyed great success on the charts with his superstar country father, Nas hoped that he and Miley would be able to create more studio magic.
The Georgia native, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, shared the news during an appearance on Andy Cohen Live from SiriusXM last month.
During the conversation, head presenter Andy Cohen first asked him about when he had texted Billy Ray, of whom the rapper became close friends.

‘The last thing I texted Billy Ray Cyrus was like, how was he about a month ago?’ the 21-year-old rapper responded.
It was at this point that the host talked about seeing Nas and Miley together at a Tom Ford fashion show in early 2019.
‘And I said,’ God, I would like to see you two doing something together. ‘ Have you thought about it? Andy asked in an inquisitive tone.
Nas was already playing with the idea of a collaboration with Miley at the time of the parade.
