Daniel Kaluuya, of Get Out, is in negotiations to join her, but, contrary to reports, Jesse Plemons will not accompany her.
Jordan Peelenew horror film started to be cast, and Hustlers actress Keke Palmer is set to play the female protagonist of the film, Collider learned.
Palmer is the first actor officially cast for the untitled film, although several unconfirmed reports from the blogosphere have pointed out Jesse Plemons and Get outin Daniel Kaluuya like the two stars of the untitled film. Sources say the Kaluuya deal should close, but Plemons has a scheduling conflict that will prevent him from participating.
At the moment, Palmer’s cast is all that Collider has confirmed, and while the plot details remain secret, sources say she will play the film’s antagonist. The actress has a history with Peele, having already made a special appearance in a 2013 episode of her acclaimed series of skits. Key & Peele. As for this untitled film, Peele wrote the script and will produce alongside Ian Cooper under its banner of Monkeypaw Productions, which has an exclusive five-year contract with Universal. Sara Scott and Tony Ducret will oversee the studio’s project, which is scheduled to launch Peele’s last “terror event” on July 22, 2022.
Peele won an Oscar for writing Get out, which also earned him a nomination for Best Director, as well as a nomination for Best Film. Peele won a second Best Picture nomination the following year as one of the producers of Spike Leein BlacKkKlansman. Your second effort, We, raised $ 255 million worldwide (the same amount as Get outt), although the film proved to be a little more controversial with critics.
Palmer is a former child star (Akeelah and the Bee) whose most recent credits include box office success Hustlers and the acclaimed indie drama Imperial dreams starring John Boyega. Palmer is leaving the demanding Facebook series Shake up with the Taylors as Scream: The TV Series, and she also wrapped Krystin See Lindennext slavery drama Alice, that she was also an executive producer.
Palmer currently voices Maya at the Disney + revival of The Proud Family as well as Rochelle on the new Netflix Big mouth spin off Human Resources after appearing in the 5th season of the animation show. It can also be heard alongside Pete Davidson in the next podcast with Audible script Hit Job. Palmer is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment.
As a producer, Peele is responsible for HBO’s Lovecraft Country and The Twilight Zone restart for CBS All Access. He also produced Candyman for Universal, where he is currently developing a remake of Wes Cravenin People under the stairs, as Collider first reported. Few are using gender stories as a vehicle for provocative social commentary like Peele, who has become a first-rate filmmaker in the space of terror. We can’t wait to see what he’s planning to do next, but Palmer certainly looked excited about it last fall …
Jordan Peele is so cool you guys. I spoke to him recently and I just want you to know that he is really as stupid as you think as FR.
