From Cosmopolitan
We are not even two months into 2021 and Bachelor Nation is already facing drama, after drama, after drama. First, there were screenshots of Rachael Kirkconnell (one of Matt James’s competitors) in a pre-war themed plantation party in 2018 that celebrated the old south. Then, Chris Harrison decided to defend Rachael’s actions during an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, also known as the franchise’s first black star.
But it didn’t end there. Chris later released an apology after receiving a negative reaction. Rachael released his own statement and now Chris is “moving away for a period of time” from Bachelor franchise.
This leaves fans wondering who will replace Chris as the host of the Bachelor franchise. There has been no ABC announcement (it is still possible for Chris to return to his usual duties), but fans has favorites to replace it. Here are the main candidates:
Wells Adams
Wells Adams is a Bachelor favorite of the franchise fans, mainly because he is the bartender in Bachelor in Paradise. He has already found his happily ever after with his fiancee, Sarah Hyland. Before Chris announced he was leaving, rumors were circulating that Wells would be next in line for the job.
“It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard,” he said People in January regarding speculation. “First of all, Chris is not going anywhere. He has the best job in Hollywood. Tom Hanks would agree that he has the best job in Hollywood. He is not going anywhere.”
Well … now we know that it’s not exactly guaranteed. Wells added, “And I know everyone is like, well, he’s moving to Texas. Guess what, guys? It’s a travel program. He can live in Timbuktu and still do the program. They film just a week and a half. in Agoura Hills. The rest of the show is everywhere else. “
JoJo Fletcher
The idea that JoJo Fletcher will take over is not far-fetched. The former Bachelorette replaced Chris during the Tayshia Adams season, so she definitely has the experience. JoJo temporarily took over for two weeks while Chris was quarantined again.
According, Us Weekly, Chris was not satisfied that JoJo acted as a host. “Chris was not happy that they would quarantine him in Palm Springs for two weeks without working,” said a source. “He insisted that he simply left his son in the dorm and left, socially distancing himself all the time.”
Nick Viall
Nick Viall is a Bachelor basic franchise. He appeared in The Bachelorettand twice, Bachelor in Paradise, and it was the Bachelor. He is currently focused on his podcast, The Viall Archives, where he discusses all things about relationship, ofc. He spoke out against Chris’ statements, but did not address the possibility of replacing him.
“After seeing Chris’s very disappointing and damaging interview with Rachel, I spent the last two days talking to many people from Bachelor Nation, including those involved,” said Nick in an Instagram story. “This is a learning moment for all of us. It can be uncomfortable to recognize our own ignorance, but without recognition there can be no responsibility and growth.”
Rachel Lindsay
Perhaps the most logical replacement is Rachel herself. The ex-maiden is loved and is committed to speaking out against the franchise’s problems. However, she said recently that she is planning to take a step back from the Single Nation in light of the recent controversy.
“I can’t take it anymore,” said Rachel on her podcast, University education, on Friday. “I am contractually bound in some ways. But when everything is ready, I am too. I can’t do this anymore. “
She continued: “The things that boiled me the most were the compassion, the space and the grace that Chris Harrison wanted to give Rachael, but I couldn’t give this Rachel in the interview, I couldn’t give it to people who were offended by things that she did. “
We will just have to see how it plays out.
