The NBA fined Trae Young $ 20,000 for “directing inappropriate language” to an official after Wednesday’s defeat against the Dallas Mavericks ended, the league announced on Thursday.
The Atlanta Hawks star found some difficult contact while placing a screen on the final play of the game and clearly believed he had been fouled. The officials disagreed, prompting Young to scold him angrily.
In addition to fining Young, the NBA supported officials and said Young’s contact with Willie Cauley-Stein does not justify a foul:

You can be the judge of the play, which happened in an internal play by Kevin Huerter. Young’s canvas did indeed release Hawks’ great man, John Collins, to run the painting with Cauley-Stein several steps back, but Huerter made the pass safer for Danilo Gallinari, who missed a winning attempt.
As soon as Gallinari’s long two ends sounded, Young immediately turned his attention to the officer.
