Jeep withdrew its Super Bowl commercial with Bruce Springsteen from its YouTube channel after reports of the arrest of the singer DWI in his home state of New Jersey in November.
TMZ reports that the singer was arrested on November 14 in Sandy Hook, NJ and quoted by DWI, reckless driving and alcohol consumption in an enclosed area. Almost three months after his arrest, Springsteen joined Jeep for a Super Bowl commercial, entitled “The Middle”, which would be the second most-watched ad in the game after Michael B. Jordan and the Amazon ad.
In the two-minute ad, the generally shy commercial Springsteen rides a jeep and speaks of unity in the United States amid political divisions. The commercial is still available for viewing on the official Jeep account on Instagram.
Neither Springsteen nor Jeep representatives responded immediately to requests for comment.
