Like this! High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Costars Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett were apparently dating (although this was never confirmed) and when they apparently broke up, there were rumors that things were getting very complicated behind the scenes.
On the same day that Joshua was photographed at an apparent lunch with Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia dropped a photo on Instagram wearing a “get the hell out of him” t-shirt, which seemed to be the least. And so, an apparent love triangle / feud was born.
The 17-year-old didn’t want to know if the song was about her co-actor, but she also didn’t end the rumors. In an interview with Billboard, she said, “I fully understand people’s curiosity about the details of who the song is and what it is about, but for me, that’s really the least important part of the song.”
Then Joshua rolled over, which also released some of his own songs that seemed to be a response to Olivia. One of those tracks was called “Lie Lie Lie” which … well, it’s not exactly subtle, right?
