After a trio of episodes that pierced parodies of old comedies with mysterious nods to a black force, WandaVision catapulted us back into the real world with the “We interrupted this program”. We now know that whatever world Wanda and Vision are living in is an “anomaly” that is probably a manifestation of Wanda’s pain at the loss of her other half, and that SWORD souls are trying to pierce the bubble. Before the fifth episode of the limited series, Disney shared a trailer for the remaining episodes.
There’s a lot to think about here, including parodies of what appears to be Growing Pains and Modern Family. The vision is also beginning to wonder what is out of Westview, a thought that will surely confront you with the truth about your own mortality. We can also expect more from Kathryn Hahn’s mysterious Agnes, who, quite revealingly, was not among the residents listed in last week’s episode.
