Johren starts pre-registration on Tuesday for the game anthropomorphizing historic Japanese swords
The gaming platform Johren announced on Monday that it is launching Nitroplus and DMM Games’ Touken Ranbu Online English game. Players can pre-register for the game starting on Tuesday.

Revisionists looking to change history have begun to attack the past. To avoid such threats, the Chronos Ministry sent Saniwa for each age. Saniwa, with the power to awaken an object’s heart and emotions, could grant powers to fight and dominate itself. Thus, raised as the Tsukumogami, Saniwa flies in the past with Touken Danshi to maintain the true story. Players become the Saniwa, and will materialize the Touken Danshi, the famous swords assumed in the form of honorable warriors. Gather eight types of Touken – Tanto, Wakizashi, Uchigatana, Tachi, Otachi, Naginata, Yari and Tsurugi. Create your own unique battalion and prevent history revisionists from changing the past. The “sword personification training game” takes famous swords from Japanese history and interprets them as Bishōnen. Nitroplus designed the characters and the setting. The game was released in Japan in January 2015. The franchise inspired the Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu television anime series and an upcoming anime film, the two Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru spinoff of the anime series and an anime compilation. A live action film premiered in Japan in January 2019, and a sequel film will be released this year. O franchise it also inspired a series of musicals and a series of plays, as well as several manga.
