South Korean actress and model Song Yoo Jung died over the weekend, according to reports on Monday.
The 26-year-old star died on Saturday and was buried during a quiet, private funeral, her Sublime Artist Agency confirmed to Newsweek.
“The actress Song Yoo Jung left this life on January 23, 2021. According to her family’s wishes, the funeral was held in silence and the funeral procession took place on January 25,” wrote the agency in the statement, according to the vehicle.
“Song Yoo Jung was a friend of ours who always cheered us up with her bright smile, and she was a wonderful actress who acted with heated passion. Please pray for the rest of your soul so that it can rest in peace in a warm place. ”
The funeral was held at a branch of the Seoul Medical Center in the capital’s Gangnam district, the vehicle reported, citing Yonhap News.
Another local vehicle, yclick.co.kr, said the cause of the woman’s death could not be revealed, Newsweek said.
“It is impossible to know exactly what kind of concerns she had,” Jung’s anonymous close friend told Osen, according to Newsweek.
“It had been a long time since she debuted in the entertainment industry and she was concerned about not being able to shine properly in the spotlight. She also spoke earlier about her difficulties in life. ”
Jung, who appeared in a series of Korean dramas and also appeared in a music video for the K-pop group iKON, spoke to local media in 2019 about the challenges she faced in acting.
“I tried to do my best due to the situation I was in,” Jung told yclick.co.kr at the time, according to Newsweek.
“I think that this waiting period was also necessary for me.”
Jung made his big screen debut when he appeared on Golden Rainbow in 2013, the vehicle reported. Since then, she appeared on Tell Me Your Wish in 2014, School 2017 in 2017 and in the online series To My Name in 2019. She has also appeared in advertisements for appliances, coffee and cosmetics and her Instagram includes dozens of modeling photos.
