Let’s go to Philadelphia Eagles links …
How committed are the Eagles to fixing Carson Wentz? Not as committed as you might think, says Joe Banner – Inquirer
In fact, I think this is neutral or more likely means that Carson is not coming back. I know that everyone is saying the opposite. But Sirianni is not a guy with a long history of developing defenders or creating really complicated schemes. So it’s not like they have great confidence that he will come and make Carson look like the defender he was in 2017. It can be neutral. They could have been where they were before they started the search where they wanted to try to fix Carson, but they were also willing to consider switching him and moving on with Jalen Hurts. Or it could be, they don’t want to bring in a new coach who doesn’t have a ton of experience and start with him having to find out who gets what repetitions in practice, and who in the locker room favors this guy That guy. This situation presents many challenges for the arrival of a new coach. As we discussed last week, it’s one of the reasons they’ve had trouble attracting some of the best candidates.
The Eagles believe Nick Sirianni can help fix Carson Wentz. But this is hardly certain. – BGN
Wentz’s work ethic should not be questioned. But it is not clear whether he is working in the right way to fix what needs to be changed. Based on his actions, it doesn’t seem like he really realized how much he was to blame for his own struggles in 2020. He allegedly made excuses for his mistakes. Instead of being humiliated by his bank, he would have complained to Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie. He apparently had his camp leaking exchange requests, and at least he did nothing to distance himself from these reports. The Eagles’ signing of Sirianni is a little worrying, as Josh McDaniels and Duce Staley may have been passed over in part because they were seen to implement heavy training. It seems that Wentz, who has exercised a lot of power and influence so far, may have succeeded once again, considering how he likes Reich and the Eagles hired the closest thing to his former offensive coordinator. Sirianni is said to have an advantage over him, or at least more than Doug Pederson. Hopefully this is true and hopefully Wentz embraces tougher coaching.

Eagles stay or go: Quarterback – PhillyVoice
Perhaps the team still believes in Wentz. Eh. It’s probably more like they know they’re stuck with it. The bet here is that they called the championship to assess their interest in it and left disappointed with the answer. And so, the search for coaching focused on candidates who had a plan to fix it, if they could not move it for what they would consider adequate compensation.
How Nick Sirianni came out of nowhere to become the Eagles’ coach – NJ.com
Randy Mueller – a former general manager of the New Orleans Saints and the Miami Dolphins, who was the senior executive of the Chargers’ football operations at the time – said Rivers, Williams and Allen were successful due to Sirianni’s dedication. “If you know Nick, you know his attention to detail,” said Mueller on Thursday. “Players develop when they know what they are doing. Your players always know what they are doing, so they have a chance. He can communicate and teach (his methods) where they are confident enough in what they are doing, so that they can develop as players. That, to me, is coaching. ”Sirianni has worked with five top NFL coaches: Haley, Crennel, McCoy, Lynn and Reich. Mueller believes that each of these systems will help Sirianni build his own program.
Nick Sirianni finally catching up with his brothers – NBCSP
Nick Sirianni, 39, is the youngest of three boys who became football coaches, just like his father. Fran Sirianni is a coaching legend in upstate New York and a member of the Chautauqua (County) Hall of Fame for his incredible career as a head coach at Southwestern. The boys grew up in a football house and there was always competition. But Nick was 6 years younger than Jay and Mike 9, so he took the brunt of physical competition. “We used to hit him when he was younger,” said Mike.

Big Blue View mailbag: DeShaun Watson trade, Daniel Jones, limit questions, more – Big Blue View
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. The giants will not, and should not, negotiate for DeShaun Watson. Bob, you may be ecstatic about your proposal under most of the franchise for Watson. I am not. I know how good Watson is. But, you basically want to give up half the list to get the guy. Who will he deliver the ball to? Play for? Who will block? It seems to me that your idea is to keep adding names to the mix until Texans say yes.
Report: Kyle Smith expects to part ways with the Washington Football Team – Hogs Haven
Chris Russell and the Washington Football team at SI.com have already taken care of several changes to the front office and now he is reporting that Smith will leave the organization. One of his sources described the departure as inevitable. We don’t know if Smith will be around until the draft, which can happen to second-level executives in a front office in transition. Smith hired an agent and is probably getting ready for his first taste of the free NFL agency. Russell says there are other teams investigating Smith if he is available. John Keim speculated in his latest podcast that the 49ers or Rams might be interested due to their connections with Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay. Keim also said that Smith was tainted by his association with Bruce Allen and the former regime. Experience and limited curriculum at the top executive level were mentioned by several sources.
Choice of NFL experts for the AFC and NFC Championship – SB Nation
The last four teams in the 2020 NFL season are set, with the Packers, Buccaneers, Bills and Chiefs forming the final group that no one a year ago would have expected. Well, outside of the Chiefs. I think everyone outside Kansas City is a little upset that we are not winning a Browns Vs. Bills AFC, but honestly, it’s the best. It would have really taken the breath away from the end of the season to see the Bills and Browns benefit from two of the best young defenders in the league being forced out in times of crisis due to the concussion protocol.
