“Biggs informed the interviewing agent that the Capitol doors were open when he entered the building,” said the complaint. “Biggs denied having any knowledge of any pre-planning to invade the Capitol and had no idea who planned it.”
One of the videos analyzed by the FBI shows Biggs responding, “This is incredible!” after someone asks what he has to say when people enter the Capitol, the complaint said. The agent, whose name was drafted, also noted that Biggs was wearing what appeared to be a walkie-talkie device, along with several other suspected members of the Proud Boys.
Biggs faces charges of obstructing, influencing or preventing an official process; knowingly entering a restricted building without legal authority; and intentionally and consciously engaging in disorderly conduct to prevent a session of Congress.
He appears in court tomorrow. It is not clear whether Biggs hired a lawyer.
Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was arrested on January 4 and taken into custody on suspicion of property destruction for allegedly destroying a Black Lives Matter plaque at a historic Black church in Washington, DC, last month. The plaque was set on fire after being pulled from the Asbury United Methodist Church, one of the oldest black churches in the city.
Tarrio was arrested on entering the city shortly before the march in support of President Donald Trump that led to the mob attacking the Capitol. It turned out that Tarrio had two high-capacity chargers and faces an additional weapon charge.
