Steph Curry helps end the LA Lakers’ winning streak for the Golden State Warriors

The 32-year-old finished the game with 26 points and scored a three-point basket with just over a minute left on the clock to overcome his team’s 14-point handicap in the last quarter.

The Warriors, who had fought in the first half, managed to hold on despite LeBron James almost saving the game for the Lakers at the buzzer.

“We kept our composure. The second unit was incredible in both halves,” said Curry after the game, on ESPN.

“We had some momentum in the second half to give us an opportunity and to take us further.”

The Lakers looked dominant at the start of the game and had led with 19 points in the first quarter.

But the Warriors returned in the second half, ending a five-game winning streak for the Lakers.

James, who finished with 19 points, felt that his team was suffering.

“I think we just had some tough breaks, some tough decisions against us in the second half that slowed us down,” he said after the game. “We couldn’t get back on track.”

Durant and Harden shine for networks

Elsewhere in the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets squeaked by Milwaukee Bucks 125-123 in a thriller.

Kevin Durant, who finished with 30 points, scored a final of three points to seal his team’s victory.

The new Nets star, James Harden, was also in excellent shape and finished with 34 points, becoming the first player to score 30 points in his first two games in Nets history.

The Houston Rockets left the 31-year-old for Brooklyn as part of a three-team deal last week.

“He draws a lot of attention,” said Nets coach Steve Nash, talking about the impact the All-Star has had eight times.

“Anyway, he makes us a better team offensively, for sure, and he is amazing at reading the game with the ball in his hands. It is a luxury to have, and we will put it in real shape and it will be best. “
